Probate & Estate Administration

We are able to deal with the administration of estates including those where assets are held overseas. We will make sure that you are kept informed every step of the way during the administration process at a time which can be very confusing and distressing.

Probate and the administration of estates is an increasingly complex area of the law. Heavy penalties can be imposed by HM Revenue and Customs on Executors if they fail to declare all the assets of an estate as well as interest charges. Many people are not aware that Executors are personally liable not only to HM Revenue and Customs in respect of both Inheritance Tax and Income Tax, but also to the beneficiaries of the estate. Where a beneficiary is a charity, the administration can cause particular problems.

We will always let you have an estimate of our charges for dealing with an administration on your behalf before you are committed to us acting for you, and will keep you updated throughout the course of the administration if our estimate changes for any reason.

‘May I express my huge appreciation for the crisp and efficient way that you have conducted my mother's affairs. I know you said at the outset that it was likely to be relatively straightforward but I feel we have received huge value for money from the way you have guided and administered the estate.’

‘Many thanks for your immediate assistance which is so very much appreciated’

‘Thank you for your detailed and comprehensive reviews. We have been delighted working with you.’
