Wills
Everyone should make appropriate provision in relation to their estates by making a Will. This is relatively inexpensive and will give you the peace of mind to know that your assets will pass in accordance with your wishes. Ideally we prefer to meet you to ensure that we have a full understanding of you and your family’s requirements, but if it is difficult for you to come into the office for a discussion, your Will can be dealt with electronically or by post, provided your instructions are straightforward. Either way, we will let you have an estimate of our charges; prepare a Will for your approval and give you full written advice on its terms and advise you, where appropriate, on steps that can be taken to save Inheritance Tax.
If you do not make a Will, your estate will be distributed in accordance with the Intestacy Rules. This may prejudice your family and unmarried partners and friends will receive nothing. In the worst case, all your assets could go to the Treasury.
